CM Yogi Adityanath’s Initiative: Labor Donation Campaign Every Sunday in UP Schools to Promote Cleanliness and Discipline

The primary goal of this initiative is not only to keep school and hostel premises clean and well-organized but also to instill a sense of responsibility, discipline, and sensitivity towards the environment in students.

CM Yogi Adityanath: In a significant step to further strengthen Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Mission, the Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has launched a new initiative aimed at promoting cleanliness, discipline, and environmental awareness among students. Under this initiative, every Sunday will now be dedicated to the “Shramdaan Campaign” (Labor Donation Campaign) in all Jayprakash Narayan Sarvodaya Schools and Government Hostels across the state.

The campaign has been initiated under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the supervision of Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Social Welfare, Asim Arun. The primary goal of this initiative is not only to keep school and hostel premises clean and well-organized but also to instill a sense of responsibility, discipline, and sensitivity towards the environment in students.

Voluntary Labor Donation Becomes Part of Students’ Duty

As part of this new directive, students will voluntarily participate in various activities every Sunday. These activities include cleaning the school and hostel premises, repairing furniture, cleaning drains, and managing waste disposal. All necessary equipment such as brooms, shovels, buckets, dustpans, and dustbins have already been provided by the government to facilitate this process.

Promoting Environmental Conservation Through Gardening

A strong emphasis has been laid on gardening as a key part of the campaign. Students will engage in weeding, planting new saplings, and converting dry leaves into compost. This not only promotes greenery but also develops environmental awareness among students from an early age.

Healthy Competition and Team Spirit

Schools will be divided into various houses or teams, each assigned specific responsibilities for the shramdaan. This structure is designed to encourage healthy competition and motivate students to maintain cleanliness standards while fostering team spirit and a culture of cooperation.

Transparency Through Digital Monitoring

To ensure transparency and accountability, students will upload photos of the work done before and after the shramdaan activity through a QR-code-based digital monitoring system. This will help maintain records of which tasks were performed at which location, providing a clear and verifiable log of activities.

This innovative step by the UP government underlines the focus on not only achieving cleanliness but also nurturing responsible future citizens with strong values of discipline and environmental consciousness.
