DCGI approval Covaxin for children: DCGI (Drugs Controller General of India) has approved Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin for the vaccination of children between 6 and 12 years of age.
According to the information received from the sources, the emergency use of Covaxin has been approved.
In all the schools of the country, emphasis is now being laid on immunization of children eligible for vaccination. Children coming to school are being motivated to get vaccinated so that prevention from corona can be possible.
The vaccination of children in the age group of 12 to 14 years started from March 16 in the country. But now the scope of vaccination is being increased continuously and the government is trying to provide vaccine to children of every age group.
It has been said by the experts that the symptoms of corona in children will appear soon. If a child is infected with the XE variant of the virus, then he may have complaints like abdominal pain, fever, dry cough, runny nose, headache. But experts have advised to be cautious not to be afraid in such a situation.
The immunity system of children is considered to be strong and in such a situation, even after coming in the grip of infection, there is not much danger for the children. The family members will only have to pay attention to the diet and routine of the child so that the virus can be fought strongly.
The Subject Expert Committee of the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) last week recommended the emergency use of Corbevax vaccine as well. This recommendation was made for children aged 5 to 11 years. Corbevax, developed by Hyderabad-based firm Biological-E, is the country’s first indigenously developed RBD protein sub-unit vaccine against corona.
There has been a spurt in the cases of corona in the country again. With the arrival of 2,483 new cases of Covid-19 in India on Tuesday, the number of people infected with Corona so far has increased to 4,30,62,569. At the same time, the number of patients undergoing treatment has come down to 15,636.
