Delhi: GRAP Stage III imposed, All you must know to avoid being heavily fined

Delhi: Given Delhi‘s steadily rising pollution levels, the third stage of the Graded Action Response System has gone into effect. It was decided to deploy Grap-3 in the capital following the CAQM conference. Delhi had an air quality index of 392 on Thursday. As a result, Delhi’s air quality stayed in the extremely bad range. With the exception of Delhi, the air quality in Noida and Greater Noida was rated as extremely poor. The GRAP-3 regulations have made it illegal to perform any non-essential construction or demolition work. In addition, cars classified as BS-III petrol and BS-VI diesel cannot enter Delhi. The State Transport Department will issue orders in this regard. Read on to know more.

GRAP Stage III imposed in Delhi

In compliance with the recently implemented Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) Stage 3, the Delhi government is making every effort to mitigate the declining quality of the air. A heavy fine of Rs 20,000 would be imposed on every BS3 petrol or BS4 diesel car found to be operating on Delhi’s streets.

To protect children’s health and safety as air pollution worsens, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has declared that all public and private elementary schools in the city will close immediately for the next two days.

Additionally, the government of Delhi has put severe limitations on the entry of diesel trucks into the nation’s capital and has outright forbidden any non-essential building work within Delhi-NCR. These efforts are part of a larger plan to reduce air pollution and protect Delhi’s citizens’ health.
