The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced that three new corridors being developed under Phase-5A will significantly enhance connectivity across the national capital. The expansion aims to reduce travel time while offering passengers a smoother, more convenient, and reliable commuting experience.
Delhi Metro Phase-5A Expansion to Add Three New Corridors
According to DMRC, the upcoming corridors will improve access to key urban areas and help ease pressure on existing transport networks. By expanding the metro footprint, the project is expected to improve last-mile connectivity and ensure seamless integration with current metro lines.
Strengthen City Connectivity
Officials stated that the Phase-5A expansion aligns with the national vision of Ease of Mobility and Viksit Bharat, focusing on sustainable, efficient, and people-centric urban transportation. The initiative is also expected to encourage the use of public transport, thereby reducing traffic congestion and vehicular pollution in the city.
The Delhi Metro, widely regarded as the backbone of Delhi’s public transport system, is known for its safety, punctuality, and commuter-friendly services. The new corridors will be developed with modern infrastructure, advanced signalling systems, and improved passenger amenities to maintain high operational standards.
DMRC added that the expansion will benefit daily commuters, students, office-goers, and visitors by making travel faster, safer, and more comfortable. The project is also likely to support planned urban development and economic activity in newly connected areas.
With continuous expansion and modernisation, Delhi Metro continues to play a crucial role in building a well-connected, sustainable, and future-ready transport ecosystem for the national capital.
