Delhi: schools to remain closed till further notice due to Covid-19

All schools in Delhi will remain shut in view of the rising coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases, chief minister Arvind Kejriwal announced on Friday.

"Due to increasing cases of Covid-19, all schools, government and private, in Delhi are being closed for all classes till further orders," the CM tweeted.

On Thursday, Delhi recorded the highest single-day rise in Covid-19 cases with 7,437 more persons testing positive for the viral infection in 24 hours.

The death toll rose to 11,157 with 24 fresh fatalities due to the infection. The test positivity rate increased to 8.1% from 6.1% the previous day reflecting the fast spread of the disease.
