Launching a social media campaign to promote "Poshan Maah", Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday stressed the importance of proper nutrition in building a prosperous nation and asked the people to contribute towards a malnutrition-free India.
National Nutrition Week 2020 theme
The theme for National Nutrition Week 2020 is 'Eat Right, Bite by Bite'. The theme for 2019 was ‘Har Ghar Poshan Vyavahar’.
The theme for National Nutrition Week 2018 was 'Go Further with Food' whereas, in 2017, it was 'Optimal Infant & Young Child Feeding Practices: Better Child Health'.
The problem of malnutrition in the country is in a very serious condition. According to the National Family Health Survey-4, 38 per cent of India's children are short. At the same time, 21 per cent of the children are underweight in proportion to their length, while more than 35 per cent of the children are underweight. In order to deal with all these problems, PM Narendra Modi started the nutrition campaign in 2018.
Proper nutrition is vital to build a prosperous nation. #POSHANMaah2020 starts today. Let us undertake efforts to reach out to people across the length and breadth of India and spread awareness on eradicating malnutrition. This will help our Nari Shakti and Yuva Shakti. pic.twitter.com/mpPEuaT210

Smriti Irani has given information about this by tweeting. Through a video, she has told that a unique effort is being made in the history of the country with the inspiration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is the effort of the government that unique information of each district should be kept on a website that which vegetable, crop or fruit of that district can be part of a balanced diet.
The aim behind the celebration of Poshan Maah is to encourage Jan Bhagidaari in order to ensure health and nutrition for everyone.
