EV Sales in India: Electric Vehicle market is a rapidly growing industry in India, In the second quarter of 2023, 26794 which contributes 2.7 percent of all the passenger vehicles sold in second quarter of 2023. This was an increase of approx. 21109 Units. In the first Quarter, EV Sales was 0.3 percent of all the passenger vehicles with only 2384 Units sold. One of the major reason of increasing EV Sales in India is can be considered as the rising fuel prices and the high maintanance cost of petrol or diesel engine vehicles. Coming with environment friendly Lithium Ion rechargeable batteries, EVs don't pollutes the environment. Government also provides Subsidies and incentives on purchasing electric vehicles and that these considerable incentives are one of the major reason of increasing sales of EV Segment cars . Highest Demand Of All Three EV Model Tata Motors

Tiago Hatchback tops the list with 10,695 Units sold in the second quarter of 2023, which all alone accounts for 40 percent of all the EVs sold in the second quarter of this year, second on the list is Nexon EV which accconted for 19 percent of EV sales with 5072 Units sold in the scond quarter. Maintaining the dominance, third position is also captured by Tata Tigor EV with 3257 Units sold in the second quarter of 2023 which accounts for 12 percent EV Car sales in India.

Sales Of Mahindra XUV 400

XUV 400 is the only Electric SUV Offfered by Mahindra, With the sales of 2234 Units, this SUV aacounted for 8 percent of total EV sales in the second quarter of 2023, XUV 400 stands on the fourth position on the podium with decent sales in second quarter, The prices of XUV 400 EV starts from 15.99 lakh and goes upto 18.99 lakh (ex-showroom), If you are planning to but XUV 400 EV, keep in mind that this Electric car is delivering with the waiting period of 6 Months.

Sales Of MG Comet EV

MG Comet was launched by Morris Garages in May 2023 Itself, With the sales of 1914 Units in the second quarter, this EV accounts for 7 percent EV Sales in India. Presently, Comet EV is the most affordable EV car in India, the price of this EV starts from 7.98 lakh, company offer this EV in three Trims- Pace , Play and the top-end Plush Variant. Another EV by MG is ZS EV of which 1757 Units were sold in the second quarter 2023.

Citroen eC3

The Electric variant of C3 Hatchback offered by Citroen captured the 7th position in the list with the sales of 576 Units in the second quarter. The prices of Citroen eC3 starts from 11.50 lakh.

Sales Of Honda Ioniq 5

Honda Ioniq was launched in the Auto Expo 2023, this EV accounted for 2 percent EV sales in India with 449 Units sold in the second quarter of 2023, after this 9th and 10th place on the list is captured by EV6 nad Hyundai Kona Electric with the sales of 279 and 159 Units respectively, both these EVs accounted for 1 percent EV sales in India.
