Spicejet Ransomware Attack: There has been a cyber attack on the system of the airline company Spicejet. SpiceJet itself has given this information by tweeting. The airline company has said that a ransomware attack has occurred on the airline’s system on Tuesday night, due to which the services of flights flying in the morning have been affected.
SpiceJet stated about “attempted ransomware attack”. Due to which several of its flights were delayed. This lead to troubles of passengers who left stranded at various airports this morning.
Now Spicejet said that it’s IT have has “rectified the situation and flights are operating normally now”. While a passenger of air carrier has tweeted a video, saying that they have been stuck for nearly four hours now.
After passengers shown their anger over SpiceJet on social media, spicejet put out a statement. “Certain SpiceJet systems faced an attempted ransomware attack last night that impacted and slowed down morning flight departures today. Our IT team has contained and rectified the situation and flights are operating normally now,” SpiceJet tweeted.
However Mudit Shejwar a Twitter user tweeted in response to the SpiceJet’s tweet saying that they were still stuck and since about four hours they are have been sitting in plane without food.
“Operating normally?? We are stuck here since 3 hrs and 45 mins? Neither cancelling nor operating, sitting in the flight not even the airport. No breakfast, no response!,” he wrote and shared a video shot inside the plane.
Ransomware Attack is a type of cyber attack. This virus controls the user’s computer and demands payment. This virus can harm not only the computer but also the smartphone. Ransomware downloads software that harms a computer or smartphone without your knowledge, through which it encrypts user information. Hacker can access all the data of the user. The hacker tries to extort money by blackmailing the user by threatening to block his data. Payment is demanded from the user in the form of fees from Bitcoin to Dollar.
