Government approved the purchase of new Fighter Aircrafts .

Defence ministry approved the purchase of new missiles , fighter aircraft and equipment to the tune of Rs 38900 crore for the Indian armed forces.

Indian defence got government approval to purchase 21 MiG-29 and 12 Sukhoi -30Mki fighter aircraft, along with the 248 long range air to air missiles Astra from Russia .
For the boost to the Armed force’s, the defence ministry cleared the order of purchase on Thursday.

The budget is turn to be around Rs 38,900 crore . They also gave approval to upgrade existing 59 MiG-29 for IAF ( Indian air force ) .

Defence minister Rajnath Singh visited Russia’s Victory Parade in Russia and he even met Senior members of Government in Moscow to learn about the supplies of spares and weapons systems.

The tension at LAC in Ladakh remains even after some round’s of meeting at the corp’s commander level. The proposal to buy fighter jets comes at a time when India and China were engaged in a tension standoff in Galwan Valley.

Defence Minister announced the decision in press release and without bothering to the conceal the context of current situation with China he stated ” current situation and the need to strengthen the armed forces for the defence of our borders we approved the purchase “

He further added ” the approval was also the long felt need of the IAF , to increase its fighter squadrons .”
