Haryana and Punjab are set to get a major infrastructure boost with the construction of three new national highways under the Bharatmala Project. The approved projects will not only make travel easier but are also expected to push up land prices in the surrounding regions, benefiting local landowners.

The new highways will connect Panipat to Dabwali, Hisar to Rewari, and link Ambala to the Delhi Highway. With these developments, heavy traffic congestion on the GT Road is expected to ease significantly, improving travel conditions for commuters and transporters alike.

Faster Delhi–Chandigarh Travel

The Ambala–Delhi highway will greatly reduce travel time between Chandigarh and Delhi by 2 to 2.5 hours. The route will pass along the Yamuna river, offering a faster and smoother journey.

The Panipat–Dabwali highway will pass through several towns including Dabwali, Kalanwali, Rori, Sardulgarh, Hanspur, Ratia, Bhuna, Sanyana, Uklana, Litani, Uchana, Naguran, and Shithon. This stretch will improve connectivity between Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, and Jammu & Kashmir.

Next Steps

Following central government approval, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the three highways. Once approved, tenders will be issued, and construction will commence. Officials have indicated that DPR preparation will begin soon.

These projects are expected to bring significant economic and real estate growth in the region while providing faster, safer, and more efficient transportation options for people and goods.
