Health Tips: Preventive measures to follow during heatwaves to avoid stomach and respiratory issues

People across the country are facing the brunt of the scorching heat. In many parts of the country, the temperature has crossed 45 degree Celsius. A heatwave alert has been declared in many places by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Heatwave is very injurious to health and it can lead to many other problems. Dehydration is the most common problem caused by heatwaves. Due to this, a person may also have to face many serious stomach and respiratory issues.

Today we are going to tell you how you can avoid these stomach and respiratory issues

Preventive measures to follow during heatwaves

Drink as much water as you can

Consume as much water as possible. To avoid dehydration, the amount of liquid in the body should be sufficient. Apart from this, water intake helps for every problem of the body.

Eat light and non-fried foods

Include light, non-fried foods in your diet. Never eat too much food at once. Eat food which is easily digested. During summer, the stomach takes more time to digest food and light and non-fried food gets digested quickly. Avoid eating food kept in the open or fast food during summer.

Avoid spicy foods

Abstain from spicy and acidic food. Spicy food causes burning sensation in the stomach and invites many other problems.

Keep yourself cool

Always keep yourself cool by using a fan or cooler. Avoid going out without work and if it is necessary to go, then definitely use an umbrella.

Avoid exposure to direct sunlight

Avoid the sun’s rays and stay mostly in the shade so that there is not much pressure on your respiratory system.

Always keep humidifier

If there is less moisture in the air and those who have breathing issues, especially keep a humidifier with you and use it. It will cure the problem of breathing.
