Heat wave conditions are prevailing in many parts of the country. It has been said from the Meteorological Department that the effect of heat wave will continue in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Southeast Uttar Pradesh for the next two days. However, there will be a possibility of rain in Northeast India and Sub-Himalayan region West Bengal for the next 5 days. IMD officials had said on Saturday that pre-monsoon activities are forecast to start from June 12 in East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Odisha, but temperatures in North Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and North Madhya Pradesh will continue till June 15.

The Meteorological Department said that there is no possibility of any significant change in the maximum temperature in northwestern India in the next four days. IMD said that between June 16 and June 22, the maximum temperature is likely to be below normal or near normal. “During the week (June 16-June 22), heatwave is not expected in any part of the country,” it said.

The maximum temperature in the capital Delhi on Saturday was recorded at 43.8 degrees Celsius, four notches above normal.
