Baba Ramdev’s mission to fight COVID-19 and cancer; promotes holistic health, will make Goa a welness hub

He made this observation during a gathering at Miramar beach in Goa, where his Patanjali Yog Samiti had organised a three-day-long yoga camp. Ramdev added that Goa should become a centre for wellness and for the treatment of various diseases. He urged the hotel industry to introduce ‘panchkarma’ in their establishments and to introduce yoga to tourists.

Ramdev claims cancer cases have increased after COVID-19

Ramdev also said that Goa should be a hub for spiritual and ayurvedic tourism. He further added that tourists should visit Goa not just for sightseeing, but to get treatment for blood pressure, sugar, thyroid, cancer and other diseases. The state government has agreed to provide all the necessary support required to transform Goa into a ‘yog bhoomi’. During the event, Ramdev performed various yoga asanas on a specially-made platform on the beach.

Goa government pledges support for promoting yoga and wellness

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant hailed Ramdev’s research in the fields of yoga and naturopathy, stating that the state government will provide all the necessary support to transform Goa into a hub for yoga and spirituality tourism. The yoga guru also urged the hotel industry to introduce ‘panchkarma’, a five-step detoxification therapy in ayurveda, in their establishments, along with other yogic practices. He added that life is not just about eating, drinking, and dying, and urged people to take care of their physical and mental health.

Ramdev’s observations have raised concerns about the increase in cancer cases in the country due to the COVID-19 pandemic. His efforts to promote yoga and ayurvedic practices for the treatment of various diseases have gained popularity in India and abroad. The event at Miramar beach has highlighted the need for wellness and spiritual tourism in Goa, which can boost the state’s economy and promote a healthy lifestyle.
