After registering the second highest daily count on Tuesday with 80,000 new cases, India has recorded a single-day spike of 78,357 new positive cases & 1045 deaths in the last 24 hours.
Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu have reported the highest number of cases. However, infections are rising rapidly in states like Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. Yet, India’s recovery rate continues to rise and now stands at 77 percent.
9,860 new COVID-19 cases (3,420 in Bengaluru), 6,287 recoveries and 113 deaths reported in Karnataka in the last 24 hours, taking total cases to 3,61,341 including 2,60,913 recoveries and 5,950 deaths. Number of active cases stands at 94,459: State Health Department.

Delhi records another spike of 2,509 fresh COVID-19 cases, pushing the case count to 1,79,569 while the toll mounts 4,481 with 19 deaths.
Coronavirus outbreak is spreading rapidly in Bihar. According to the data released by the state health department, 1969 new patients of Corona have come out in the last 24 hours. After which the number of active cases of corona in the state has increased to 17,923.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare today released Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on preventive measures to be followed while conducting examinations to contain the spread of coronavirus.
These include maintaining physical distancing of at least 6 feet as far as feasible, mandatory use of face covers/masks, frequent hand-washing with soap (for at least 40-60 seconds) and use of alcohol-based hand sanitisers (for at least 20 seconds) wherever feasible.
