Covid-19: India reports 43,509 new cases in last 24-hour

India has reported 43,509 new cases in the last 24-hour, as per the update released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. In the same time, 38,465 recoveries were also recorded, the Ministry added. With this, the total recoveries have reached 3,07,01,612 and the recovery rate now stands at 97.38 percent. The country’s active caseload has climbed to 4,03,840 which constitutes 1.28 percent of total cases.

The weekly positivity rate in the country has remained below 5 percent and is currently at 2.38 per cent. The daily positivity rate in the country is at 2.52 per cent. The country also reported 640 deaths in the last 24-hour, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,22,662.

According to the health ministry data, a total of 45,07,06,257 Covid vaccine doses have been administered in India so far, including 43,92,697 in the last 24 hours.

The total number of samples tested so far has reached 46,26,29,773 as on July 28, including 17,28,795 samples tested on Wednesday.

As per the sero survey, Madhya Pradesh’s population has the highest antibodies, while Kerala has the least antibodies.

In the last 24-hour, Kerala also contributed to the most number of cases as more than 20,000 cases were reported in the state. It was followed by Maharashtra which recorded over 6,000 cases.

Meanwhile, the overall global Covid-19 caseload has topped 195.8 million, while the deaths have surged to more than 4.18 million and vaccinations soared to over 3.96 billion, according to the Johns Hopkins University.
