Covid-19 Spike Continues As India Logs 3,095 Fresh Cases In Last 24 Hours

According to the Union Health Ministry’s report on Friday, India reported 3,095 new cases of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, while the total number of active cases was 15,208. This comes after India recorded 3,016 new cases on Thursday, the highest number in a single day in almost six months.

The Covid death toll rose to 5,30,867 with five more fatalities, including one death each from Goa and Gujarat and three reconciled deaths from Kerala.

While the weekly positivity rate was predicted at 1.91 percent, the positivity rate was 2.61 percent.

The ministry reports that the number of active cases is 0.03 percent of all cases, and that the national Covid-19 recovery rate was 98.78 percent.

The number of Covid infection recoveries increased to 1,390 patients, bringing the total to 4,41,69,711, while the case fatality rate was 1.19 percent.

A total of 220.65 crore vaccine doses have been given in India as part of the nationwide vaccination campaign, including 95.20 core second doses and 22.86 crore precaution doses. 6,553 vaccine doses were provided in the previous 24 hours.
