People will be able to register themselves for the next phase of Covid-19 vaccination drive on Co-WIN2.0 portal from 9:00 am on Monday.

More than 16,000 private and government hospitals empanelled under Ayushman Bharat PMJAY, CGHS and state schemes have been given permission to function as Covid vaccination centres for the next phase of vaccine drive, starting Monday, March 1.

In this phase, all people aged above 60 will be able to get Covid-19 vaccine shots free of cost from over 10,000 government vaccination centres. Apart from them, this phase will also cover people in the age group of 45-59 years.

Co-Win 2.0 is not a new app. It's an upgrade of the existing app through which the government conducted the first phase of vaccination. For this upgrade, vaccination was stalled on Saturday and Sunday.

Here is how you can access the app and register yourself

Cowin 2.0 can be accessed in three ways. You can go to cowin.gov.in, the website and look for the tab where self-registration is allowed (will be live only after the second phase is kicked off)

The app can be accessed through the Aarogya Setu app as well as a separate tab

The app can be downloaded from the Google play store.

The latest announcement was on private hospitals - they can charge up to Rs 250 per dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

All private health facilities that will serve as the government's vaccination centres must follow strict norms of due process, quality and safety, including integration with the national CoWIN technology platform.

There will be only one live appointment for a beneficiary at any point of time for each dose. Appointments for any date for a COVID Vaccination Center will be closed at 3:00 pm on that day for which the slots were opened. For example, for 1st March the slots will be open from 9:00 am till 3:00 pm on 1st March, and the appointments can be booked anytime before that, subject to availability. However, on 1st March an appointment can also be booked for any future date for which vaccination slots are available.

A slot for second dose will also be booked at the same COVID Vaccination Center on 29th day of the date of appointment of the 1st dose. If a beneficiary cancels a first dose appointment, then appointment of both doses will be cancelled.

What are the documents required for the Co-WIN 2.0 registration process?

  • For those who are aged above 45 years and are comorbid, they will have to upload a medical certificate, mentioning their comorbid condition.
  • For the people who are above the age of 60, they need to carry their Aadhaar card or voter ID card or a photo ID card for the vaccination process.
