Delhi government lifts all covid restrictions including night curfew

The Delhi government on Friday lifted all covid restrictions including night curfew. All schools have been asked to switch to offline classes from April 1. The penalty for not wearing a mask in public places has been reduced from Rs 2,000 to Rs 500.

Wearing of masks will not be mandatory for people traveling in private four wheelers in Delhi. This new rule will come into effect from Monday when all Covid restrictions are lifted. DDMA has decided not to wear face masks/covers in all public places. After the meeting of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority, the Delhi government on Friday lifted all COVID restrictions.

“Night curfew has also been lifted and all schools in the capital have been asked to resume physical classes from April. The fine for not wearing a mask in public places has also been reduced from Rs 2,000 to Rs 500”, the guidelines said.

Restrictions have been eased as Delhi’s pandemic situation improves with 440 cases reported on Saturday. Today the positivity rate has dropped to 0.83%. Lt Governor Anil Baijal tweeted after Friday’s meeting, “After detailed discussions with experts, in view of the decline in COVID positive cases and hospitalizations, following the guidelines issued by the Government, February 28, 2022 (Monday) All COVID-19 related restrictions in Delhi fromIt has been decided to remove.”
