India Covid Update: Vaccine Doses Cross 77 Cr Mark

The number of anti-Covid-19 vaccinations in the country has crossed 77 crores. According to the Union Health Ministry, a total of more than 77 crore doses of anti-Covid-19 vaccine have been given till Thursday.


On Thursday, 57,11,488 doses of the vaccine had been given in a day. So far, a total of 58,21,13,634 people have been given the first dose of vaccine in the country while 18,96,22,772 have been given both doses.

The Union Health Ministry said that the vaccination campaign is being carried out to protect the most vulnerable population groups in the country from the corona epidemic. This campaign being run in the country is regularly reviewed. Meanwhile, the Union Health Minister has urged people to actively participate in the vaccination campaign on the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, 17 September.

The Union Health Ministry said that more than 76.11 crore doses of anti-Covid-19 vaccine have been provided to the states and union territories so far. Apart from this, more than 1.65 crore doses are to be given. The ministry also informed that more than 5.33 crore doses of anti-Covid vaccine are still left with the states and union territories.

The ministry said that in the last 24 hours, 30,570 new cases of corona have been reported in the country while 431 people have died. With this, the number of infected in the country has increased to 3,33,47,325. In these new cases in the last 24 hours, 22,182 cases have been registered in Kerala alone while 182 people have died in the state. The number of active cases in the country is 3,43,923. The increasing cases of infection in Kerala still remain a cause for concern.
