India recorded 3,712 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours

India recorded 3,712 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases to 4,31,64,544. The active cases also increased to 19,509, according to the Union Health Ministry data.

The number of death due to COVID-19 climbed to 5,24,641 with 5 fatalities in the last 24 hours.

The active cases comprise 0.04 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.74 per cent, the ministry said.

Maharashtra recorded 1,081 fresh cases of Covid, the highest in the last three months, as per government data released on Wednesday evening.

Mainland China reported 129 new coronavirus cases for June 1, of which 37 were symptomatic and 92 asymptomatic, the National Health Commission said on Thursday. That compared with 131 new cases a day earlier – 35 symptomatic and 96 asymptomatic, which China counts separately. There were no new fatalities, leaving the death toll at 5,226.
