India suspends UK flights till 31st Dec, After health ministry meeting

A new form of Corona has spread in Britain, after which around 21 countries of the world have banned passengers coming and going from there. It is being told that this new form of corona is spreading about 70 percent faster. In such a situation, the Indian government has also issued an alert for the countrymen.

Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan said the government was alert to the discovery of a new form of corona virus in the UK and there was no need to panic. The top advisory body of the Union Ministry of Health has convened a meeting today to discuss the new corona virus strain encountered in the United Kingdom.

Britain’s Health Secretary Matt Hancock has warned that a lockdown could remain in London for months, as it would be very difficult to control the rapid spread of the virus until the vaccine is found. Hancock made the remark just hours after Tier-4 sanctions came into force in the British capital and parts of southeast England, reports Xinhua. The new strict restrictions will now be reviewed on 30 December.

This new strain of corona virus is being reported as very dangerous. It has spread from Britain to Italy, Netherlands, Denmark, Australia and South Africa. Many countries have banned flights from the UK. In view of this, India has banned all flights coming from Britain from 12 o’clock tonight. Before that, RT-PCR test has been made mandatory for every passenger flying.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation issued a statement saying that in view of the prevailing situation in Britain, the Indian government has decided that all flights to India from there have been temporarily suspended till 11:59 pm on 31 December. This suspension will come into force from 11.59 pm on 22 December.

This new strain of corona virus spreads 70 percent faster than the old virus. Like other countries, there is a fear about this infection in India. If the virus reaches India, cases of infection can increase very rapidly. The joint monitoring group met on Monday under the chairmanship of the Director General of Indian Health Services (DGHS) to discuss the new strain in Britain.
