In the last few days, the number of people recovering from infection has been more than the new patients coming of Covid-19 daily. On Friday, Karnataka recorded the highest number of 41,779 new cases, 39,923 in Maharashtra, 34,694 in Kerala and 31,892 new cases of infection in Tamil Nadu.
The number of active cases in the country is still above 36 lakhs. Help from other countries is continuing in the midst of a health crisis in the country due to the second wave of Covid-19.
Health Ministry's Joint Secretary Luv Aggarwal said that a total of 18.04 crore doses of anti-Covid vaccine have been given so far in the country. This includes 12.74 crore people above 45 years of age, 1.62 crore health workers, 2.25 crore frontline personnel and 42.59 lakh people in the 18-44 age group.
Agarwal also said that efforts are being made by the government to stop the pandemic and the infection rate which was 21.9 percent last week has now come down to 19.8 percent.
The Ministry of Health said yesterday that so far 10,796 oxygen concentrators, 12,269 oxygen cylinders, 19 oxygen generation plants, 6,497 ventilators / by-paps, 4.2 lakh Remedesvir have been received as doses of aid from other countries.
Apart from this, PPE kits, test kits, masks, medicines and other medical items are also constantly coming. So far 18 crore vaccine doses have been made in India, in which more than 4 crore people have been given both doses.
The ministry said that the infection rate in 24 states is more than 15 percent and the infection rate has come down significantly in Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Daman and Diu, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh.
According to the updated data of the Union Health Ministry on Saturday, there have been 3,26,098 new cases of pandemic in the country, taking the total number of infected people to 2,43,72,907.
With this, 3,890 more people have died due to the pandemic in the country, taking the total number of dead to 2,66,207.
The ministry said that the number of under-treated patients in the country has come down to 36,73,802, which is 15.07 percent of the total cases. The national rate of recovery has risen to 83.83 percent.
