Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to open vaccination campaign for everyone above 18 years of age.
News agency ANI quoted state health minister Satyendra Jain as saying that they have also sought to expand the campaign beyond health facilities and allow beneficiaries to be sent to temporary camp settings.
The Chief Minister made a request in a written letter to the Prime Minister which comes before the meeting of all Chief Ministers of States and Union Territories.
The meeting will be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Covid-19 status and vaccination strategy in the country will be discussed.
On Centre's claim that vaccinations of health workers in Delhi were low, Jain said, "We can also say that vaccinations were less in Centre's hospitals. This is not an issue, the point is that we have to vaccinate more and more people. soon."
"We must fight together with covid."
Jain said, "The vaccination campaign is going well in Delhi."
Corona virus infection is wreaking havoc in India. Breaking all previous records, a quarter of a million new Corona cases have been registered on Wednesday. According to the data released by the Union Health Ministry, 1 lakh 26 thousand 315 cases have been reported in the last 24 hours. During this period 685 people died.
The figures which have come on Wednesday are the highest ever. Earlier on Tuesday, 1.15 lakh new cases were reported.
