Many states of the country are struggling with the lack of vaccine supply, Maharashtra is also one of such states.
Mumbai's civic body BMC said in a statement that private vaccination centers in Mumbai will remain closed till Monday due to lack of supply of corona vaccine.
However, vaccination will continue in all government and municipal hospitals.
"Due to insufficient supply of the COVID-19 vaccine, vaccination will not be available at the vaccination centers of private hospitals on April 10, 11 and 12, 2021," he said.
The statement said that the civic body would receive some stock of the vaccine by tonight (9 April) and the administration would try to resume vaccination in private hospitals.
Additional 99 Commissioner Suresh Kakani said, "99,000 doses of Covishield will reach Mumbai late on Friday and will be distributed at municipal and government centers on Saturday morning."
A total of 120 vaccination centers are being run in Mumbai, out of which 49 are being operated by the Maharashtra Government and BMC.
The statement said that 40,000 to 50,000 people are given vaccine doses every day at these centers.
At the same time, Principal Secretary (Health) Pradeep Vyas says that till Wednesday morning there were about 14 lakh vaccine doses in the state.
In many districts, the stock will be over by today or tomorrow. The Center is aware of this and we have told them in writing.

During the last 24 hours on Monday, 31 thousand 643 new cases of infection have been found in Maharashtra. During this time, 102 people in the state have lost their lives due to the virus.
With these new cases in Maharashtra, the total figure of Corona has now reached 27 lakh 45 thousand 518 and the death toll has gone up to 54 thousand 283.
At present, the number of active patients in the state is 3 lakh 36 thousand 584 i.e. those patients who are being treated .
