Omicron: Three new cases in karnataka, chandigarh and andhra pradesh, total 36 patients in india

Cases of the new variant Omicron of corona virus are also increasing in India. On Sunday, Omicron has reported one case each in Karnataka, Chandigarh and Andhra Pradesh. A total of 36 cases of Omicron have been reported in India so far. The Government of India is taking precautions to deal with Omicron. The central government has asked the states to emphasize on testing and vaccination.

The 20-year-old youth who was found infected in Chandigarh had come from Italy to meet his relatives. On 22 December, he came to India from Italy, since then he was in home quarantine, then on December 1 he was found to be Covid positive after being re-examined. After which his sample was sent for genome sequencing, in which Omicron’s infection was confirmed.

No symptoms of any kind were seen in the young man and he had also taken a dose of Pfizer vaccine in Italy. Seven people from the family who came in contact with him have also been quarantined. The corona report of all of them has come negative, but on Sunday, their corona test has been done again.

At the same time, in Andhra Pradesh, the Omicron infected person has returned from Ireland. This is Omicron’s first case in the state. The patient found in Karnataka had returned from South Africa. So far three cases of Omicron have been reported in Karnataka. Omicron cases have been found in states including Delhi, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Gujarat. The highest number of cases have been reported in Maharashtra.

A new variant of Covid-19, Omicron, which is believed to be “highly contagious”, has so far spread to at least 59 countries. Countries around the world are bringing new restrictions to stop Omicron. The government has warned against the laxity-avoidance of use of masks and delay in vaccination.
