CM Bhajanlal Sharma Eases OPD Limit Rules for Pensioners under RGHS
According to the notification issued by the Finance Department, powers have been delegated to the Medical and Health Department and the Rajasthan State Health Assurance Agency to enhance the existing limits under the RGHS scheme for pensioners. At present, the annual limit for medicines in outdoor (OPD) medical facilities is ₹50,000 and ₹5,000 for diagnostic tests. These authorities will now have the power to relax or increase these prescribed limits.
Part of Ongoing Health Reforms
The move is part of a broader effort by the Rajasthan government to strengthen public healthcare services and ensure welfare schemes are more accessible. Officials said that the change will benefit thousands of retired state employees who rely on RGHS for their medical expenses.

Pensioners’ associations have welcomed the decision, calling it a step in the right direction towards dignified and worry-free healthcare for the elderly. Many have expressed hope that similar initiatives will be introduced to cover additional services under the scheme.
