Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to suggest that vaccine co-formula should be shared with other vaccine manufacturers to increase production of covid vaccine in the country so that the vaccine at even greater level Possible to build and the needs of the states can be met.

Earlier, he held a digital press conference and advocated speeding up the vaccination drive against Corona. He said that there is a need to produce vaccines on a war footing in the country and for this, the work of manufacturing the vaccine should not be with just two companies.

He said that 'Right now we are applying 1.25 million doses daily, the goal is to do it 3 lakhs daily, but there is a big problem, that is the vaccine. We have only a few days 'vaccine left and this problem is nationwide.'

He said, 'There are some states where vaccination could not be started due to shortage of vaccine. There are only two vaccine manufacturers that make 6-7 crore vaccines a month. It is now necessary to increase vaccine production in India on a war footing.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on 8 May that now we have only 5 to 6 days of vaccine stock. Due to this, vaccination in Delhi is not catching pace. Along with this, he has appealed to the Union Health Ministry that the Central Government should direct the Serum Institute and Bharat Biotech to supply 60 lakh doses of Delhi to Delhi every month.

Kejriwal suggested that 'Do not make only two companies to make vaccine, many companies should be employed in the work of making vaccine. Take the formula from these two companies and give it to other companies who want to make vaccines, this is the only way through which we will be able to vaccinate all Indians as soon as possible.'

He said, 'When the Corona came there was such a shortage of PPE kit at that time, if only a few companies made it at that time, then there would be a lot of shortage but today there is no shortage of PPE kit. A portion of the production of vaccine producing companies can be given as royalty to the parent companies so that they do not suffer any loss.

On lockdown and vaccination in Delhi, he said, 'With your cooperation the lockdown was successful. Corona cases are decreasing in Delhi. We have increased oxygen beds in the last few days. Vaccination is being done in Delhi government schools, people are very happy and getting vaccinated well. I want to thank my school staff and the frontline workers who are engaged in vaccination.'
