The Hemant Soren-led Jharkhand government has announced a new opportunity for young aspirants seeking careers in the aviation industry by inviting applications for professional training programmes for Ground Crew/Handler and Air Hostess/Steward roles.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office, the training programme will be conducted through the Jharkhand Flying Institute with the objective of equipping youth with industry-relevant skills and improving their employment prospects in the fast-growing aviation sector.
Ground Crew/Handler course will provide training in airport ground operations
Candidates who have completed 10+2 (any stream) are eligible to apply. The prescribed age limit is 18 to 27 years for both training programmes.
The Ground Crew/Handler course will provide training in airport ground operations, passenger handling, baggage handling, load control, safety procedures, communication skills, and customer service. Participants will also receive practical training and career guidance to prepare them for aviation industry jobs.
The Air Hostess/Steward programme will focus on cabin services, in-flight safety demonstrations, emergency procedures, communication skills, customer service, personality development, and professional grooming. The minimum height requirement is 157 cm for women and 170 cm for men.
The institute is offering a six-month certificate programme with a training fee of ₹1,00,500 and a 12-month diploma programme priced at ₹1,55,500.
The state government said the initiative is aimed at helping young people build successful careers in aviation through professional training, modern facilities, and experienced instructors. The programme is expected to enhance employability and create new career opportunities in one of India’s fastest-growing sectors.
