Honda: For its future litre-class motor, Honda is developing slightly new technology. Here is all we know about it based on patent designs that have leaked online.
Honda appears to be modifying the technology a little bit, despite the fact that several manufacturers are adopting the cylinder deactivation option for their noticeably larger bikes. The most recent patent from Honda demonstrates how the V4 engine (shown in the drawing) can function at half its capacity even when under some load and be partially shut off while idling.
The riding speeds and throttle input will determine the cylinder activation. Even with the cylinders off, oxygen is still pumped into the exhaust as part of the process, which saves fuel combustion. The long-term result of this is the cleansing of gas. The cylinder position, the angle between them, and an extra flap close by are how Honda intends to address this, though. The general arrangement is still in its early phases of development and may be applied to future Honda motorcycles.
