Hyundai Ioniq 5 N: Hyundai has revealed its first ever high performance electric car model at Automobility LA. The automaker is claiming that the new Ioniq 5 N will be one of the most powerful electric vehicle across the world. The new electric model was first seen in the pre-show event of Automobility LA. Hyundai also has plans to showcase more high performance vehicle with the N suffix. Check out more details of the model below.

Hyundai has reserved N suffix for its high performance vehicle in each category. Thereby, the automaker uses N suffix in its high performance vehicles. Now it will be also used for high electric models of the company. The ‘N’ indicates two key major things of the brand which are Nurburgring Race track in Germany where the brand tests its high performance vehicles and Namyang district in South Korea where it has its Research and Development facility.

Some of the models of the automaker such as i20, Elantra and i30 have N variants. It for the first time that the Ioniq 5 is rewarded with the N version.

What’s Unique about Ioniq 5N

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N comes based on the same standard E-GMP platform as the standard Ioniq 5 along with N motorsport specs. N Motorsport technologies has significantly increased the vehicle’s performance. The company has improved the rear subframe to enhance the rigidity of the model. Both front and rear integrate drive axles (IDA) have been tuned to churn out better electric motor torque. Ioniq 5 N comes with 21 inch forged aluminium wheels to reduce the weight. The steering wheel of the vehicle also comes with added strength.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 N Features

Hyundai Ioniq comes with an updated electric propulsion system which provides improved N Brake Regen and improved battery cooling. The new electric model gets a bigger 84 kWh battery pack which is said to be more resilient to power loss due to excessive heat. Hyundai Ioniq 5 N also gets an N Race features to choose between the ‘Endurance’ and ‘Sprint’ for improved traction control.

Ioniq 5 N boasts the N Specific brakes which is the strongest braking system offered by the brand. Additionally, the vehicle gets 15.75 inch front rotors along with four piston monobloc callipers and 14.2 inch rear rotors.
