India's Own Car Safety Program BNCAP launched, know all the benefits here

BNCAP India: Central Road and Transport Minister, Nitin Gadkari has launched long awaited Bharat New Car Assessment Program (Bharat NCAP). This is an India's own car safety and crash test programme. Authorities aims to promote the Automakers in the country to provide improved safety features in their vehicles. India will stand on the fifth position to have its own car safety program after America, China, Japan and South Korea. Ministry stated that this car safety program is launch for making customers able to easily analyze the safety of the vehicle with Star rating of the respective vehicle. Along with promoting improved and best standard of safety in 3.5 ton vehicles, Road Transport and highway ministry also aims to increase the demand of domestic vehices Internationally.

Bharat New Car Assesment Program will allow the automakers to voluntarily register their vehicles for safety test, BNCAP authorities will have the right to choose register vehicles on a priority basis, it will also have rights to conduct random test of the domestically produced and imported vehicle which will increase the transparency in the procedure, BNCAP Crash test will be conducted on several parameters like Adult passenger safety and Child passenger safety.

Automakers will be required to provide Electronic stability control feature in their vehicles to get atleast 3 star or better ratings. Bharat New Assesment Car Program has been designed on the parameters of Global NCAP and Euro NCAP which is the all time leader in safety Crash Test Ratings.

With the launch of Bharat New Car Assesment Program, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highway expects that it will significantly increase the demand of safety feature loaded vehicles in India which will further promote Automakers to provide their customer base with the enhanced security.
