Ivana Trump, a former skier turned businesswoman who was the first wife of former US President Donald Trump and the mother of his oldest children, passed away in New York City on Thursday, according to her family. She was one half of a publicity power couple in the 1980s. She was 73.
The deceased woman passed away at her Manhattan home, the former president announced on his social networking app. He posted on Truth Social, “She was a fantastic, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a terrific and inspirational life.
Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric were three of the couple’s kids. He stated, “She was so proud of them, just as we were all so proud of her. Ivana, “Rest In Peace!”
According to two persons with knowledge of the situation who spoke to The Associated Press, authorities are looking into whether Ivana Trump went down the steps and think her death was unintentional. They claimed she was discovered unresponsive next to a stairway in the house. They talked to the AP under the condition of anonymity because they were unable to discuss the situation in public.
An official cause of death will be established by the medical examiner’s office. As he left his mother’s house in Central Park, Eric Trump stated, “It’s been a really terrible day, a very sad day. She was described as “an remarkable woman—a force in business, a world-class athlete, a radiant beauty, and a devoted mother and friend” by him and his brothers in a statement.
The three claimed, “She embraced this country after fleeing communism.” She instilled in her kids the values of compassion, grit, and tenacity.
Ivanka Trump shared pictures of herself smiling and laughing with her mother when they were younger. She called her mother “brilliant, charming, passionate, and wickedly funny.”
She was a ski racer and occasional model from the Czech Republic who met the future president in the 1970s and described him as “clever and witty — an all-America good person” in a 2017 book. In 1977, the couple was hitched.
She rose to fame as an icon in her own right, exuding beauty and style from the 1980s, replete with her distinctive blonde updo. She had an impact on the outrageous Patsy Stone’s appearance in the famous British sitcom Absolutely Fabulous; in one episode, the character called Ivana “tremendous.”
In the popular 1996 movie The First Wives Club, Trump herself would eventually make an appearance and deliver the now-famous statement, “Ladies, you have to be tough and independent, and remember, don’t get furious, grab everything.”
The Trumps partnered together in relationships and business. She oversaw one of his Atlantic City casinos and contributed to making Trump Tower a symbol of prosperity in the 1980s (or excess, to some). According to a biography of Donald Trump by Wayne Barrett, she went to an Italian quarry to choose the rosy-beige Breccia Pernice marble that famously adorns its floors and walls, and she overruled the architects to get a 60-foot waterfall erected in the atrium of Trump Tower.
Former Trump Organisation executive Barbara Res, who oversaw the building of the skyscraper, recalls Ivana helping the decorator and showing a keen interest in particulars like the doormen’s costumes.
