JP Nadda Says Kangana Ranaut is 'Welcome to Join BJP but...'

Kangana Ranaut: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president JP Nadda has reacted to actor Kangana Ranaut's desire to join politics to contest in the upcoming Assembly Polls from Himachal Pradesh. For the unversed, Kangana Ranaut has been a vocal supporter of the Modi government. At an event yesterday, the actor has asserted she wishes to join politics soon.

JP Nadda on Kangana Ranaut Joining Politics

After Kangana Ranaut asserted she is keen on fighting in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, BJP president JP Nadda has said she is more than welcome to join the party. However, he added the decision on contesting polls is taken after a consultation process.

"Kangana Ranaut is welcome to join the party. There is ample space for anyone who wants to work with the party. But as far as contesting the polls are concerned, it is not my decision alone. There is a consultation process right from the grassroots level to the election committee to the parliamentary board," JP Nadda said.

"Everyone is welcome to join the BJP. But in what capacity, the party decides. We don't take anyone based on conditions. We tell everyone, you have to come unconditionally and only then is the party going to decide," he added.

Himachal Pradesh Assembly Polls

Himachal Pradesh Assembly Polls will take place on November 12. There will be a single round of assembly elections. Voter registration is scheduled on November 12 and vote counting is scheduled for December 8. This election is expected to feature a two-cornered fight between the incumbent BJP and the opposition Congress, which is attempting to retake power following its loss in 2017.
