Karnataka Man Stabbed To Death, Section 144 Implemented

After the murder of BJP worker Praveen Nettaru in Mangalore, Karnataka, an incident of attack on a Muslim youth has come to the fore. The young man was murdered with a knife. This attack has happened in Dakshina Kannada area.

On getting information about the incident, the police reached and started investigation into the matter. Police say that they are finding out about the youth and the attackers. However, the police have ruled out a love affair behind the attack. At the same time, the Mangalore commissioner has said that soon the motive of the attack will be known and the attackers will be arrested.

Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar said that at around 8 pm (on July 28), 23-year-old Fazil was brutally attacked by 4-5 people near Krishnapura Katipalla Road in Surathkal. The boy was immediately taken to the hospital. Where the doctors declared him dead. Police Commissioner said- Case has been registered at Surathkal police station. Apart from this, Section 144 of CrPC has been imposed in Surathkal, Mulki, Bajpe, Panambur.

“It is a highly sensitive area. Therefore, prohibitory orders under Section 144 have been clamped in Suratkal and three adjoining police station limits, Mulky, Panambur, Bajpe PS Limits,” said Shashi Kumar, the police chief in Mangaluru.

All liquor shops will remain closed and 19 check posts have been set up including the Karnataka-Kerala border, where all the vehicles will be searched.

No one will be allowed to roam in the city after 10 pm.

Reacting to the killing, Karnataka Home Minister Araga Gnanendra said that the attackers will be punished. He said that additional police personnel have been deployed to maintain law and order. “Prohibitory orders have been enforced in six police stations. Anyone who tries to take the law into their hands will be be prosecuted,” Mr Gnanendra said.
