Kashmiri Separatist: Yasin Malik Gets Life Imprisonment In Terror Funding Case

Terrorist Yasin Malik, convicted in the Terror Funding Case, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by the NIA Special Court. Also imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakh. According to Jagran correspondent Gaurav Bajpai, after Yasin accepted all the charges leveled against him, the NIA Special Court convicted him.

The Hurriyat leader and the chief of the banned outfit Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) was on Thursday convicted by a court in the 2017 terror funding case. At the same time, an alert has been issued to security agencies regarding Yasin Malik. Yasin was sent to Tihar Jail in Delhi.

Advocate Umesh Sharma told that Yasin Malik has been sentenced to life imprisonment twice.

He has been sentenced in 9 cases.

Ten years imprisonment under section 15 and 16 (Terrorist Act) of UAPA.

Under Section 18 of UAPA (conspiracy to commit terrorist act) imprisonment of ten years and fine of ten thousand.

Under Section 20 of UAPA
(being a member of a terrorist gang or organization)

Imprisonment of five years and fine of five years under Section-38 and 39 of UAPA.

Imprisonment of ten years and fine of ten thousand under IPC section-120B (criminal conspiracy).

Imprisonment of ten years and fine of ten thousand under Section-121A of IPC (spreading hysteria against the nation).

Ten years imprisonment under IPC section 121A (sedition).

Before the sentence was pronounced, Yasin Malik said that if I have been involved in any terrorist activity or violence in 28 years. If the Indian intelligence agency proves this, then I will also retire from politics. I will accept the hanging, I will not apologise. I have worked with seven prime ministers.

National Investigation Agency (NIA) had demanded capital punishment for Yasin Malik in the terror funding case.

People pelted stones at security forces outside Yasin Malik’s house, and also raised slogans in support of him, ahead of the verdict. As the ruckus escalated, the security forces opened fire and fired tear gas shells.

Yasin Malik is being taken to the special court of NIA under tight security. Security forces are strictly guarded around Yasin. Security has also been tightened in the court premises. The verdict on his sentence will be pronounced in a while.
