After more than nine hours of arduous questioning in the Delhi liquor policy case, Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) leader K Kavitha, the daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, left the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in New Delhi.
She has been summoned again by the ED on March 16.
The ED requested Kavitha's cell phone, which was stored at her home, during the questioning. Her security left for home and returned with the phone, which they gave to the ED office.
Kavitha arrived at the Telangana CM's residence after leaving the ED office, where she was greeted by party members and supporters.
Kavitha had asked that her questioning be put off until Saturday
Due to her hunger strike in Delhi on Friday, Kavitha had asked that her questioning be put off until Saturday. The ED granted her request, and Saturday was chosen as the new date for the interview.
The central agencies are interrogating K Kavitha for her alleged involvement in the Delhi liquor scandal. She was likely confronted by Arun Pillai, an arrested suspect and close friend of hers, during the questioning.
Reacting to the ED summons, BRS chief KCR said, "Let BJP do what they want, we won't back down." KCR stated that the BJP has been using raids, searches, and ED/IT summons to try to stir up problems in Telangana and for opposition party leaders as well. He also urged the members and leaders of his party to get ready for the state elections that would soon take place.
K Kavitha was earlier questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in December of last year regarding her alleged involvement in the Delhi Excise Policy case. Manish Sisodia, a senior AAP leader and former deputy chief minister of Delhi, was arrested in relation with the same case.
