Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal accepted an invitation from an auto-rickshaw driver in Ahmedabad on Monday night and had dinner at his house. But, before this, the Chief Minister of Delhi had a heated argument with the police officers posted outside his hotel over the security protocol. Kejriwal, along with some leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party, boarded an auto-rickshaw, went to his house and had dinner there.
Reacting to this, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took a dig at the Delhi Chief Minister and termed him as an actor. Before going to the auto-rickshaw driver’s house, Kejriwal had a heated argument with some police officials outside a five-star hotel over security protocol as the Delhi Chief Minister was unwilling to take the policemen along with him.
Kejriwal, who is on a two-day visit to Gujarat as part of AAP’s campaign for the upcoming assembly elections, addressed a gathering of auto-rickshaw drivers in Ahmedabad in the afternoon. After Kejriwal’s address, an auto rickshaw driver named Vikram Dantani, a resident of Ghatlodia area of the city, requested him to do dinner at his house.
The Chief Minister of Delhi immediately answered yes to this. When Kejriwal urged him to pick him up from his hotel and take him to his home in his auto-rickshaw, Dantani agreed. Aam Aadmi Party’s Gujarat unit president Gopal Italia and party’s national joint general secretary Isudan Gadhvi also accompanied Kejriwal to Dantani’s house in an auto-rickshaw. After an argument over safety protocols, a police officer sat beside the auto-rickshaw driver while two police vehicles were plying with the auto-rickshaw. Kejriwal and other AAP leaders ate food sitting on the floor at Dantani’s house.
