Key Decisions Taken in MP Road Development Board Meeting Led by CM Mohan Yadav

Under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, a key sitting the Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation (MPRDC) resulted in several important decisions aimed at boosting infrastructure and supporting farmers across the state.

Mohan Yadav: Relief for Farmers

In a major relief to the agricultural community, it was decided that combine harvesters used for farming activities will be exempted from toll tax at toll plazas. The move is expected to reduce operational costs for farmers, especially during harvesting seasons, and facilitate smoother movement of agricultural machinery across regions.

Approval for Key Road Projects

The board approved the construction of greenfield road projects connecting Indore–Ujjain and Ujjain–Jaora. These routes are expected to enhance connectivity, reduce travel time, and strengthen regional economic activities. Both projects will be developed as non-access controlled corridors, ensuring better traffic flow and infrastructure efficiency.

Boost to Urban Infrastructure

Additionally, in-principle approval has been granted for the revised alignment of the West Bhopal Bypass project. This development is expected to ease traffic congestion in and around Bhopal while improving connectivity to surrounding areas.

Focus on Development and Connectivity

The decisions reflect the state government’s commitment to infrastructure expansion under the “Farmer Welfare Year 2026” vision. By combining farmer-centric policies with large-scale road development, the government aims to accelerate economic growth and improve logistics across Madhya Pradesh.

Economic and Regional Impact

Experts believe that improved road connectivity through these greenfield projects will not only benefit daily commuters but also boost trade, tourism, and agricultural supply chains. The toll exemption for farm machinery further strengthens the government’s focus on easing financial burdens on farmers.

These initiatives highlight a balanced approach towards development—prioritizing both rural welfare and modern infrastructure to drive long-term progress in Madhya Pradesh.
