Amid the uncontrollable surge in COVID-19 Cases and death, Nitish Kumar government announced a complete lockdown in Bihar till May 15. All non-essential establishments will remain closed while essential services will remain operational in the state.
"After discussion with the associate ministers and officials yesterday, it has been decided to implement the lockdown in Bihar by May 15, 2021. The crisis management group has been instructed to act on the detailed guidelines and other activities today," Kumar said in a tweet.

Dine-in at restaurants
Bars and liquor shops
Gyms
Swimming pools
Hair salons and spas
What remains open:
Medicine stores
Food delivery
Online delivery of essential items
Pathology labs and testing centres
Vaccination centres
Hospitals, nursing homes and dispensaries.
State reported 11,407 fresh COVID-19 cases:
The decision came on a day the state reported 11,407 fresh COVID-19 cases and 82 deaths, taking the state's overall case load to over 5.09 lakh and more than 2,800 fatalities. India today reported 3,57,229 new COVID-19 cases and 3,449 deaths in the past 24 hours.
On the vaccination front, 72,658 beneficiaries were administered jabs Monday while a total of 74,18,981 people have been inoculated in the 45-plus age group till the date.
The state is yet to start vaccination for 18 plus population due to non-availability of the additional stock. Like in the past, the chief minister Nitih Kumar visited many parts of the capital town to see whether COVID restrictions were followed strictly or not.
