More than 50 passengers have been injured in a collision between a passenger train and a goods train in Maharashtra’s Gondia at 2.30 pm on Tuesday. In this accident, three bogies of the passenger train derailed. The injured have been sent to the nearest hospital for treatment.

Passenger train was going from Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh to Jodhpur in Rajasthan

News agency ANI quoted the railways as saying that this accident happened due to the arrival of both the trains on the same track. After getting the green signal, the Bilaspur-Bhagat Ki Kothi Express passenger train had overtaken. As soon as Godiya reached, the goods train parked there on the same track hit it from behind. It is being told that the accident happened due to lack of proper signal from the technician’s side. More than 50 passengers have been injured and 13 have minor injuries.

At the same time, in this entire matter, it was told by the Indian Railways that the re-railment work was completed at 4.30 am. The affected train left the site at 5.24 am and reached Gondia at 5.44 am. Up and down traffic was restored at 5.45 am. PRO of Central Railway said that 2-3 passengers are injured, who are admitted in the hospital. All the remaining passengers have been discharged from the hospital.

The injured passengers have been taken to government and private hospitals in Gondia district. This incident happened during midnight. Both these trains were going from the same direction. Bhagat’s Kothi train was going fastly after getting the green signal, but the goods train did not get the signal before Gondia city and it was standing on the track. Because of this, Bhagat’s Kothi train collided from behind and this accident happened.

Earlier on April 3, there was a major train accident near Nashik in Maharashtra. In this, 11 coaches of Jayanagar Express have derailed. On the down line, 10 coaches of train number 11061 LTT-Jayanagar Express (Pawan Express) derailed between Lahvit and Devlali near Nashik.
