Mahindra has expanded its compact SUV lineup with the launch of the CNG-powered Mahindra XUV 3XO ZNG, priced at ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The new model offers a claimed fuel efficiency of 24.7 km/kg and introduces a factory-fitted CNG option to the XUV 3XO range.

The launch gives buyers another option in the compact SUV segment, combining CNG fuel efficiency with the performance and features associated with the XUV 3XO. The vehicle will compete with CNG versions of the Tata Nexon and Maruti Suzuki Brezza.

Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG: Price and Variants

The XUV 3XO ZNG has been introduced in four variants, with prices ranging from ₹9.99 lakh to ₹12.27 lakh (ex-showroom).

The starting price applies to the entry-level variant, while higher trims offer additional equipment and features. The new CNG model expands the XUV 3XO range, which already includes petrol, diesel and electric powertrain options.

24.7 km/kg Mileage and Turbo-Petrol Engine

The SUV uses a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine adapted to run on both petrol and CNG. Mahindra claims a mileage of 24.7 km/kg in CNG mode.

The engine is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. According to automotive reports, the powertrain produces around 111–113 hp and 200 Nm of torque, with the exact power figure varying by the specification reported.

Twin CNG Cylinders and Practical Boot Space

One of the key features of the XUV 3XO ZNG is its twin-cylinder CNG setup. The cylinders are positioned to help preserve usable luggage space, addressing a common concern among buyers considering CNG-powered vehicles.

The SUV retains the overall design of the standard XUV 3XO, with ZNG badging distinguishing the CNG version. Selected variants also offer features such as a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera and a touchscreen infotainment system.

Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG to Rival Nexon and Brezza

The new model enters a competitive segment that includes the Tata Nexon iCNG and Maruti Suzuki Brezza S-CNG. Its claimed mileage, turbocharged engine and SUV styling are central to its appeal.

The final choice for buyers will depend on factors such as the on-road price, variant-specific features, real-world mileage, maintenance costs and availability of CNG stations in their area.
