A fighter aircraft of the Navy (MiG 29K) has crashed after falling into the sea. On 26 November, this accident happened at 5 pm. At that time, this trainer was flying over the Arabian Sea. One pilot has been rescued in the accident, while the search for another pilot is on. The Navy has ordered an inquiry into the accident.
In January 2018, a MiG-29 fighter jet crashed on the runway of Goa airport. However, in this incident, a trainee pilot managed to get out of the aircraft safely. Jet fighter caught fire after the crash.

In July this year India has approved the purchase of 21 new MiG-29 fighter jets from Russia, in view of the conflict with China on the Ladakh border.
