PM Modi directs recruitment of 10 lakh people over next 1.5 years

PM Modi Jobs: There is a great news for the people who are looking for jobs. The government is soon going to provide employment to lakhs of people. This was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself on Tuesday morning.

PM Modi was quoted as saying that in the next one and a half years, the government is going to give jobs to 10 lakh people. For this, he has reviewed the status of all departments and ministries.

The PMO tweeted, “PM @narendramodi reviewed the status of Human Resources in all departments and ministries and instructed that recruitment of 10 lakh people be done by the Government in mission mode in next 1.5 years.”

Against the sanctioned strength of about 15 lakh posts in Railways, around 2.3 lakh posts are vacant. There are about 2.5 lakh vacancies in the Defense (Civil) Department against the sanctioned strength of about 6.33 lakh employees. Similarly in the Department of Posts there are about 90,000 vacancies against the total sanctioned strength of 2.67 lakh, while in the Department of Revenue, there are around 74,000 vacancies against the total sanctioned strength of 1.78 lakh employees.

The Union Minister of Personnel and Training, Dr. Jitendra Singh, in reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha last year, said that as of March 1, 2020, 8.72 lakh posts were vacant in various departments of the Central Government. For now, this figure may have increased. Jitendra Singh had told that there are a total of 40 lakh 4 thousand posts in all the departments of the central government, out of which 31 lakh 32 thousand posts are currently appointed. In this way, there is a need for recruitment of 8.72 lakh posts. Not only this, while giving the data of recruitment during 2016-17 to 2020-21, Jitendra Singh had said that 2,14,601 employees have been recruited through the examinations conducted by SSC. Apart from this, 2,04,945 appointments have been given through RRB. Whereas UPSC has selected 25,267 candidates.
