The Prime Minister will additionally dedicate the full 82-kilometre Delhi–Meerut Namo Bharat corridor to the nation and inaugurate the remaining sections of the Regional Rapid Transit System, a high-speed transit network envisioned to integrate urban and regional travel seamlessly. Authorities believe the corridor will reduce travel time, ease congestion, and provide a reliable alternative to road transport.
State officials described the launch as a landmark moment for Uttar Pradesh, highlighting that advanced transit systems such as rapid rail and metro networks are central to the government’s strategy of building modern infrastructure and strengthening connectivity between major urban centres. They added that the projects are expected to stimulate investment, tourism, and employment opportunities across western Uttar Pradesh.
Officials said extensive preparations have been undertaken by local authorities and implementing agencies to ensure smooth operations ahead of the launch, including security arrangements, trial runs, and passenger facility checks. The corridor has been developed by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation using advanced rail technology, modern signalling systems, and high-speed train sets designed to meet international safety and efficiency standards.
Transport planners noted that the operationalisation of the rapid rail and metro connectivity is expected to significantly cut travel time between Delhi and adjoining urban centres, improving daily commuting for thousands of passengers. Enhanced accessibility is also projected to boost commercial activity, real estate development, and regional business integration along the corridor route.
