NIA arrests IS suspect from Batla House Delhi

NIA has arrested a suspect running online propaganda of ISIS from Batla House in Delhi. The name of the arrested accused is Mohsin Ahmed, who hails from Bihar but was recently staying in Batla House area. The NIA came to know about Mohsin's suspicious activities on social media during the investigation. It is learned that it is spreading online propaganda of ISIS using social media platforms.

In the information received by the NIA, it has also come to know that this suspect is not only completely radicalised, but also an active member of ISIS. Based on intelligence inputs, the NIA searched and arrested one of the accused in the activities of the ISIS module case. NIA searched the premises of accused Mohsin Ahmed son Mohammad Shakeel Ahmed.

Suspect Mohsin was presently residing at F-18/27, Japanese Gali, Jogabai Extension, Batla House, New Delhi. The NIA had registered a case on 25.06.2022 under sections 153A and 153B of the IPC and sections 18, 18B, 38, 39 and 40 of the UA (P) Act. It has been told that the arrested accused is a fundamentalist and active member of the banned terrorist organization ISIS.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday arrested its member Salim Qureshi alias 'Salim' for allegedly helping in terrorist activities of Dawood Ibrahim gang.

The NIA said in a release that Qureshi is a close associate of fugitive gangster Chhota Shakeel. The agency claimed that Qureshi "played an active role in extorting huge amounts of money in the name of Shakeel through property deals and dispute settlement to raise funds for furthering the terrorist activities of D Company".
