Odisha Train accident:Former Railway Minister Lalu Yadav claimed that the Odisha tragedy happened due to the negligence. The fatal accident claimed the lives of the around 288 people and many people got injured. He said that the tragedy could have been avoided. Lalu said that the manner in which they showed negligence and did pay attention has led to a large number of casualties. There should be a High level inquiry and action should be taken against the culprits. Lalu Yadav held the Railway Portfolio from 2004 to 2009 under the UPA Government.

Odisha Train mishap: Many lives could have been saved, probe must be ordered

The tragedy happened when two passenger trains Bengaluru Howrah Express and Chennai Coromandel express rammed into each other. Atleast 288 people have been killed and 803 people got injured in a horrific three train collision. The Central Government issued a helpline number for the affected people in the tragedy. Tamil Nadu Government says the status of 8 missing people is still unknown. Of the 127 people hailing from Tamil nadu could not be established with 8 people but the rest are safe. A PIL has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking a probe into the train accident. The PIL also sought guidelines and directions for the implementation of Automatic Train Protection system called Kawach Protection system in Indian Railways with immediate effect to ensure Public safety.

Odisha CM: Every life is precious

Meanwhile Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also spoke to Prime Minister Modi and briefed him about the latest situation, particularly about the condition of the injured passengers. Patnaik told the Prime Minister that all the necessary actions are being taken to save the live of the injured. He said Odisha follows a policy that says every life is precious. He also that our government will leave no stone unturned to to save of the lives of the people. The Odisha train accident has been the worst rail accident in three decades.
