Petrol and Diesel Price Update: After more than seven months, the price of petrol and diesel in Delhi, Mumbai, and other Indian cities has remained stable once more as of Friday, 30 December, 2022. On May 21, Excise Duty was reduced for both petrol and diesel by Rs. 8 per litre and Rs. 6 per litre, respectively, by the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. In addition, the Maharashtra government reduced the Value-Added Tax (VAT) on petrol and diesel on July 15 by Rs. 5 per litre and Rs. 3 per litre, respectively.

Petrol and diesel prices are revised by fuel retailers like Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) every day at 6 AM in accordance with foreign benchmark prices and exchange rates. According to transportation costs, Value Added Tax (VAT), and local taxes, fuel prices differ from state to state.
Each day at 6 am, the price of petrol and diesel is adjusted. The daily price of petrol and diesel is also available via SMS. Clients of Indian Oil can obtain information by sending their city code and RSP to the number 9224992249, whereas customers of BPCL can do so by sending their RSP to the number 9223112222. Sending HP Price to the number 9222201122 would inform HPCL customers of the price.
