Petrol and Diesel Price Update: Fuel prices remain unchanged on Saturday

Petrol and Diesel Price Update: As of Saturday, 31st of December, 2022, the cost of petrol and diesel has once again stabilised after more than seven months in Delhi, Mumbai, and other Indian cities. The excise duty for petrol and diesel was decreased by Rs. 8 per litre and Rs. 6 per litre, respectively, on May 21 by the finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Moreover, on July 15, the Maharashtra government decreased the Value-Added Tax (VAT) on petrol and diesel by Rs. 5 per litre and Rs. 3 per litre, respectively.

Every day at 6 AM, fuel retailers such as Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) update the price of petrol and diesel in accordance with overseas benchmark prices and exchange rates. According to transportation costs, Value Added Tax (VAT), and local taxes, fuel prices differ from state to state.

How to check petrol-diesel price in your city

Each day at 6 am, the price of petrol and diesel is adjusted. The daily price of petrol and diesel is also available via SMS. Clients of Indian Oil can obtain information by sending their city code and RSP to the number 9224992249, whereas customers of BPCL can do so by sending their RSP to the number 9223112222. Sending HP Price to the number 9222201122 would inform HPCL customers of the price.
