PM Narendra Modi condoled Krishnam Raju’s demise on Twitter

Veteran Tollywood actor and former Union Minister U.V. Krishnam Raju will be cremated with state honors on Monday. The last rites will be performed on Monday afternoon at Mahaprasthanam in Jubilee Hills. Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has directed the officials to make arrangements for Raju’s last rites with state honours. The Chief Minister asked Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar to make necessary arrangements.

At the age of 83, Raju, popularly known as Rebel Star, died in the early hours of Sunday at AIG Hospital here. His body has been kept at his residence, where it will be kept till Monday afternoon so that his fans can pay their last respects.

Prime Minister Narendra on Sunday congratulated veteran Telugu actor and politician U.V. Condoled the death of Krishnam Raju. PM Modi tweeted saying, Saddened by the passing of Krishnam Raju Garu. The generations to come will remember his cinematic brilliance and creativity. He was also at the fore in community service and made his mark as a political leader. Condolences to his family and fans.

Along with this, leaders of various political parties and film personalities visited Raju’s house to pay his last respects. Union Culture Minister G. Kishan Reddy, Mega Star Chiranjeevi, veteran actors Murali Mohan, Mohan Babu, Mahesh Babu, directors Trivikram, Raghavendra Rao and others paid tributes to Raju. Along with this, everyone consoled the family members including the actor’s nephew Prabhas.

K Raju was the uncle of actor Prabhas. He died in the early hours of 11 September. He acted in several Telugu films from the 1960s onwards. He was last seen in Prabhas-starrer Radhe Shyam. The film released earlier this year.
