The central government has called an all-party meeting on 26 August to discuss the crisis arising in Afghanistan. In this meeting, the opposition parties will be informed about the efforts made by the government to evacuate the Indians trapped in Afghanistan. Apart from this, what diplomatic steps the Indian government is taking after the Taliban rule in Afghanistan, is also likely to be discussed. The meeting will be held on August 26 at 11 am. Earlier, PM Narendra Modi had asked the Ministry of External Affairs to inform the leaders of political parties in Parliament about the developments in Afghanistan.

The Taliban have taken control of Afghanistan in the past few weeks. The Taliban have captured many provinces of the country, including the capital Kabul. The capital Kabul was captured by the Taliban on 15 August. After that President Ashraf Ghani left the country. After this a large number of Indians were trapped there, for which the Air Force was activated to evacuate. So far India has evacuated 730 people from Afghanistan. Apart from diplomats, a large number of people from Hindu and Sikh communities are also involved in these.
On Monday also 146 people were brought to India from 4 different aircraft of the Indian Air Force. These include a large number of Afghan citizens as well. These people were brought to India from Doha, the capital of Qatar. First he was taken out by the US Army and sent to Doha and then brought to India from there.
